Dave Soto

This is where I used to cut woods.
The tractor truck reminds me of where I started.

You may have met Dave Soto from San Jose, CA, but you probably don’t know that he used to come to MLM Meetings in work coveralls and a hard-hat after spending the day driving a large tractor excavating for a golf course or another large construction project.

On his days off he would cut, split, load, and deliver firewood. And, in the evenings play bass-fiddle in a dance band.  Dave also could be found working night-shift driving a fork lift truck for a cannery.  This was his life for five years. But like many people, he didn’t want to do this the rest of his life.   At this point he was married, had young children and was working to provide for his family and future.

Dave Soto – Success and Executive With Bestline Products, Inc.

William E Bailey, founder of Bestline Inc., remembers David coming into opportunity meetings, standing in the back of the room…..and, just listening.  He did that at many meetings before he’d say a word to anyone.  Then, in November 1966,  He saw a great opportunity in Bestline and went to work at it — hard..  He became a Bestline Distributor in 1966 by purchasing $121.16 of soap products.   That meeting and his decision to start doing something different, even when people laughed at him, changed his life forever.

I was featured in a newspaper for my great sales performance.

On his lunch break he would go to a nearby coffee shop (covered with dirt except washed hands and face) and recruit potential distributors for the next opportunity meeting. He never thought that he couldn’t talk to people because they might think less of him because he was dirty. If he had to work late, he’d take his suit and clean clothes with him to work and wash up, change clothes, and be off to not listen, but to give an opportunity meeting.

After two years working part time with very good success as a Distributor he reached the position of Regional Director in 1968.  It was then he decided to follow his dream of going full time with his own business and quit his job building golf courses. Two years later he was promoted to Divisional Director for 7 Western States with over $5 Million in sales per month. Three years went by and in 1973 he was promoted again; this time to Vice President of Sales in charge of Worldwide International Operations.

During his tenure at Bestline, David did nearly everything associated with sales and marketing. He planned and organized the Sales Events, Sales Trainings, Schools for Distributors and Corporate Team, was in charge of Leadership Development, Game Plans, Marketing Plans, Motivation Seminars in several languages working with simultaneous interpreters. He worked in 53 countries around the world.

David left Bestine in 1982 where his sales group had achieved sales as high as $60 Million per month.

Over 9000 seminars all around the globe.

JIM ROHN and me on the photo in one of the MLM Trainings we did in CA 1975. Both of us started young and worked hard to help others achieve their dreams too.

Privileged to take the CONCORDE AIRPLANE.. These are photos in LONDON, where they gave me recognition for the training classes that I did!

I bought 54 ANTIQUE CARS, a dream come true for me.

Dave Soto – Back To The USA and New Adventures

Not good at “sitting around”, in 1997 David accepted the position of Vice President of Sales for Futurenet.   He headed the expansion of the company into Canada and the Philippines as well as spearheading their presences into the online market.

By 2001 both of David’s parents had passed away and Dave decided to return to Argentina and remain there with many he had made friends with.

In Argentina, he met his wife Claudia and with her worked consulting to new companies.  He gave growth and leadership seminars on Positive Attitude through the Soto’s own company called C&D International Services.

In 2004 Dave returned to the United States to help his friend Richard Anzalone and his team to build a Candle Company. With David’s tutelage, the sales of the company went from $37,000 to $297,000 per month in 6 months. In November 2005 Mr. Soto and his wife decided to return to San Jose and live peacefully surrounded by all their animals which are Claudia’s passion. In 2012 they moved to Los Angeles already retired from MLM but always connected with friends in the industry doing occasional consulting as well supporting his wife’s teams in the Health and Wellness Industry.
